Only candidates who are permanent in the Assistant Civil Engineer title or those who are reachable on the Open-Competitive (Exam #1101) or those who filed for the Open-Competitive Exam #5015 may apply. The Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure is currently seeking a CADD Designer to join our Construction Management Unit – Construction Support - AS-BUILTS Team.

Under the guidance of an Engineer-in-Charge, the successful candidate will prepare as-built drawings and working drawings, utilizing specifications and final estimates for roadway, sewer, and water main projects. The selected candidate may require participating in field surveys; engage in engineering investigations and studies; attend meetings; and prepare calculations and reports.

A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering technology and three years of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or

3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and a master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.

Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering.

Preferred Skills Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Construction knowledge relevant to infrastructure work (i.e., roadway, sewer, and/or water main) Familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards Comprehensive understanding of the NYC infrastructure system and current engineering practices Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling and Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential (preferred) Valid driver's license (required) Personal vehicle (preferred)
