Destination-based travel Position Overview: In this critical role, the Senior Counsel will offer strategic legal guidance and leadership to the Marketing and IT teams. This position, which comes with significant visibility and impact, reports to the VP & Associate General Counsel. The Senior Counsel will also advise top executives, including the General Counsel, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Marketing Officer, on major company growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in data privacy and cybersecurity law, with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary legal advisor to the Marketing and IT teams. Guide cross-functional teams on data privacy, information security, consumer protection, intellectual property, regulatory matters, and more throughout the lifecycle of products, covering everything from conception to launch, ongoing updates, and eventual discontinuation. Stay informed on state, federal, and global legal and regulatory changes in areas like data privacy, consumer protection, antitrust, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. This includes understanding GDPR, U.S. state and federal privacy laws, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, FTC guidelines, and SEC cybersecurity rules, while also assisting in the development of related compliance programs. Take the lead on investigating information security and cybersecurity incidents, providing guidance on policy updates, playbooks, and procedures. Review marketing materials, offers, disclaimers, and claim substantiation, advising on updates to terms and conditions, promotions, sweepstakes, contests, and other marketing initiatives. Provide advice to the Contracts team on technology-related agreements (such as SaaS, licensing, professional services, and data transfer agreements) and marketing contracts, including the revision of templates and playbooks. Qualifications
Active state bar license is necessary. If you hold a bar license from a state other than Colorado, you must be eligible for a Colorado single-client bar license (or a full Colorado bar license).
