*Note: This position requires presence in our San Jose office location 4 days per week.
What You'll Do:
- Be the architectural brain behind our Design Operations, making sure our Product Design, Infra, and Brand Design teams can work their magic efficiently. This is the first Design Ops role in our organization, and it's a pivotal opportunity. Want to be part of building something incredible from the ground up?
- The glue between design and product, engineering, and marketing teams - because great products are born from great relationships. Help play traffic cop with incoming tasks from various xf orgs and teams with a curiosity to learn/understand the high level context
- Create the kind of documentation and processes that people actually want to use (yes, it's possible!)
- Build workflows that feel less like red tape and more like safety nets
- Keep projects moving like a well-oiled machine while making sure everyone's rowing in the same direction
- Partner with leadership to craft our design strategy and rituals
- Be the guardian of our design standards and system - think less "design police" and more "design guide"
- Handle the business side of creativity - budgets, vendors, and resources (someone's got to do it!)
You:
- You've spent 5+ years in Design Ops or Program Management, herding creative cats with grace
- You speak fluent designer (Figma, Asana, Jira, Confluence) and can translate between creative and business languages. Talking about, building, supporting design is your caffeine shot
- You're the person who can see both the forest and the trees - and know how to navigate between them
- You've streamlined design processes to enhance efficiency and transparency while preserving the flow of creativity.
- You understand why brand designers and product designers might need different approaches (and how to support both)
- Find navigating and bringing order in task management for a semi-chaotic environment fulfilling
- You love data but know that not everything that counts can be counted
Nice to Have:
- UXR, UI/UX, or Brand Design chops
- Understanding why design systems matter (and how to keep them from becoming dusty museums)
- Experience in AI/ML (if you can explain machine learning to designers, we want to talk)
- Experience juggling both in-house teams and agency partners
