We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Designer II to join a highly collaborative and dynamic design team with opportunities for growth. The ideal individual will have 3+ years of experience and be a self-starter with strong project architect skills. Professionals with experience in highly technical projects and a strong interest in healthcare are welcome to apply. RESPONSIBILITIES Uses enhanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design. Assists in generating creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team. Generates drawings under supervision for schematic design, design development, and construction documents. Performs product research and assists team with material selections. Exercises critical and creative judgement and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials. Uses a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way. Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual. Expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large. Takes increasing ownership of tasks within project teams and studio activities. Participates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups. Keeps open communication within team and with designated team leader. Communicates ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others. Coordinates effectively with partners and consultants. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline required. LEED GA within 6 months of hire. 3-5 years of experience. Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future Accreditation. Preparing for ARE and active involvement in AXP. Proficiencies in BIM, building codes, site analysis, preliminary design studies, contract documents, field measurements, life safety requirements, specifications and sketching. Knowledge of construction contract administration. SOFTWARE Functional knowledge of 2D/3D production software. Intermediate Revit. Conceptual modeling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper. Microsoft Office / Adobe Suite. Visualization tools such as Enscape and VRay. Physical modeling tools such as 3D Printing and Laser cutting. Presentation tools such as InDesign and Photoshop. Environmental Analysis software such as Ladybug and Climate Studio. Qualified and interested candidates should submit a resume and a portfolio or work samples (no larger than 4MB).
