Purpose:

The Marketing and Public Relations Manager is responsible for developing and executing a strategic communication plan to enhance EveryStep's brand image and reputation through effective communication strategies and targeted public relations efforts.

Responsibilities:

Marketing/Communications
  • Leads all marketing and communications efforts, with overall responsibility for:
    • External marketing and communication, including referral outreach; branded materials; advertising (online and offline); emails and e-newsletters; social media; written, video and audio content; public relations and media relations.
    • Internal communication, including internal newsletter, various announcements, staff events and presentations, etc.
  • Manages other marketing/PR/communications team members, providing day-to-day direction.
  • Counsels all departments within the organization on marketing and communication, and ensures they have support from the Marketing & Communications team.
  • Acts as primary liaison with organization partners, vendors, contractors and others assisting with marketing/communications.
  • Responsible for annual marketing and communications planning, providing direction to those with responsibility for components of the plan.
  • Manages the EveryStep brand and relates guidelines for promotion and communication; oversees any changes and/or updates to brand standards.
  • Collaborates with organizational partners across communities, including other healthcare organizations.
  • Collaborates with teams to provide communication support for various initiatives.
  • Measures and analyzes the effectiveness of communication campaigns and initiatives using various analytics tools and provides actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Provides strategy and oversight to EveryStep's hospice team marketers.
  • Manages budgets for marketing and communication campaigns.
Social Media
  • Collaborates with Content and Social Media Specialist to plan social media content.
  • Directs social media strategy.
Media Relations
  • Handles all media relations activity as the primary spokesperson for the organization.
  • Manages and maintains positive relationships with media contacts, and key stakeholders to secure media coverage and maximize brand exposure.
  • Monitors media coverage and social media conversations to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, and develops appropriate responses.
  • Responds to media inquiries for information release.
General
  • Represents EveryStep in reporting on marketing and communications initiatives to governing boards and other stakeholders.
  • Stays updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging communication technologies to ensure the company remains competitive in the market.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
  • Proven work experience in Communications or Public Relations, preferably in a healthcare industry
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing integrated communication strategies that have positively impacted brand reputation and awareness
  • Strong portfolio showcasing excellent written and verbal communication skills, including press releases, articles, and social media content
  • Proficiency in using communication and collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and social media management tools
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices in content optimization for search engines is a plus
  • Proficient in using analytics tools to measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication efforts and make data-driven decisions
  • Familiarity with crisis communication management and the ability to handle sensitive and high-pressure situations with professionalism and composure
  • Ability to fully lead marketing and communications for the organization, providing insight and counsel to EveryStep's Senior Leadership and Board
  • Strong knowledge of strategic marketing and communication plans
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Writing, editing and proofreading experience
  • Public and on-camera speaking/presenting experience
Working Conditions:
  • Physical requirements: Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally, and/or a small amount of force frequently to move objects, including the human body.

  • Travel: Required between locations
