About this role
We are seeking a highly strategic, data-driven SEO leader to oversee Faire's SEO site analysis and drive organic search performance. Reporting directly to the Head of Growth Marketing, this role will lead all SEO analytics and develop actionable insights to shape our SEO strategy with product and engineering teams.
As the accountable owner of our SEO function, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to increase site traffic, improve organic conversion, and drive sustainable business impact. You will lead complex analysis to identify performance trends, proactively respond to emerging opportunities, and implement high-impact recommendations with product and engineering teams. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of working independently with large datasets to solve complex problems and build strategies that deliver meaningful results.
What you'll do
California / New York City: the pay range for this role is $161,000 - $221,500 per year.
This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule - Faire employees will be expected to go into the office 2 days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, effective the week of January 13, 2025. Additionally, in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year.

About this role
We are seeking a highly strategic, data-driven SEO leader to oversee Faire's SEO site analysis and drive organic search performance. What you'll do
- Lead all SEO analytics; develop advanced reporting for standard site traffic, conversion, and marketplace metrics
- Own and monitor key SEO metrics performance vs goal with regular reports to leadership stakeholders; manage analysis and response when we deviate from forecast
- Analyze SEO trends, competitive landscape, and algorithm updates to proactively identify growth opportunities; respond swiftly and decisively to performance shifts with a clear test plan
- Shape and execute Faire's SEO product roadmap in partnership with Engineering, Product, Data, and Design (EPDD) teams; define and measure success of key initiatives
- Build a deep perspective on key opportunities for investment and advocate for incremental resources within a clear ROI framework, as needed
- Identify and implement technical SEO opportunities throughout the site through deep analytics, including performance, crawl, indexation, site taxonomy and prioritization
- Partner with content marketing team to advise on non-technical SEO opportunities and provide analysis to invest accordingly (blog, link-building, etc)
- Stay ahead of industry trends and educate partners teams on best practices to ensure Faire's SEO strategy maintains a competitive edge.
- 10+ years of experience in SEO strategy and execution, with a proven track record of results, preferably in high-growth marketplace or ecommerce businesses.
- Expert analytical skills, highly proficient with SQL and Excel; ability to analyze large datasets and communicate complex data findings clearly and concisely.
- Deep understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and best practices; ability to translate search trends, competitor analysis, and user behavior data into actionable growth strategies.
- Strong ability to independently analyze SEO metrics, performance data, and user behavior to drive decisions; ability to forecast SEO impact on traffic, user acquisition, and revenue.
- Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and other SEO tools.
- Expertise in technical SEO: site structure, crawling and indexing, Core Web Vitals,schema markup, etc.
- Proven track record of driving results beyond data analysis and research; experience collaborating cross-functionally with Growth Marketing, product, and engineering teams to drive the meaningful business outcomes and build strong, data backed strategies
- Experience navigating SEO challenges in rapidly changing search landscapes; ability to pivot strategies quickly based on search engine algorithm shifts and market trends.
