Position Description:
Designs digital user interfaces or websites to meet user needs and product vision. Leverages User Experience (UX) Design to create user flows, information architectures, journey mapping, and translate customer research, analytics, and insights into wireframes and high-fidelity designs. Works on Agile teams and delivers value in digital products. Understands product directions and develops design solutions. Proposes design ideas based on usability testing, standard UX methodologies and technical input. Participates in design processes, from early ideas and sketches to wireframes and prototypes, and into active development and go-live.
Primary Responsibilities:
Utilizes an array of design skills, including visual, conversational, information architecture, prototyping, strategic design methods, user research, or writing.
Designs across all channels including web, native, and automated.
Partners with user research to understand the customer problems to tackle.
Distils qualitative and quantitative feedback to unearth recurs themes and promote data-driven design decisions.
Leads definition of design work and delivers business outcomes across multiple product teams.
Confers with systems analysts and other software engineers/developers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
Develops and oversees software system tests and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Human Factors in Information Design, Psychology, Information Technology, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal User Experience Designer (or closely related occupation) performing user interface experience research and testing within a financial service environment.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Human Factors in Information Design, Psychology, Information Technology, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal User Experience Designer (or closely related occupation) performing user interface experience research and testing within a financial service environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") identifying user needs through research and interviews for end user facing application (mobile and web) in a financial service or financial product environment; and developing wireframes, user stories, user journeys, mock-ups, and usability requirements using tools including Figma, Adobe Illustrator, or Axure.
DE performing validation and test designs through user testing methods; interpreting and translating quantitative and qualitative insights into high quality user experiences using tools including A/B testing, UserTesting platform, or Fullstory platform; and identifying AI opportunities and building innovative products using data analysis methodologies including pattern recognition and clustering.
DE performing user experience research and design using moderated usability sessions, card sorting, Information Architecture (IA)/tree testing, eye tracking, online task-based studies, heuristic evaluation, cognitive walkthroughs, and think-aloud protocol; and understanding user needs and creating user-centric solutions using Google Analytics, Pendo, or Qualtric.
DE following design thinking practices within the Agile product development environment, including understanding user personal needs and business needs, collaborating with cross functional and multi-disciplinary teams, and supporting and designing key products and platforms using qualitative and quantitative research including surveys, contextual enquiries, or focus groups.
