Detailed Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our IT department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation to improve our communications with non-technical employees. This role involves writing how-to guides, instructional documents, announcements, email communications, and other types of content to ensure that employees have access to high-quality information about IT topics, enabling them to work more efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Write and maintain how-to guides, FAQs, instructional documents, and email announcements.
  • Create and manage internal knowledge base articles and documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to gather information and ensure accuracy of content.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, and user-friendly.
  • Conduct reviews and updates of existing documentation to ensure it remains current and relevant.
  • Identify new opportunities to use documentation and communication to improve employee experiences.
  • Work with subject matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
  • Review and edit content developed by other team members to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Create and implement frameworks for how to approach organizational knowledge management and content creation.
  • Utilize content management systems to organize and publish documentation.

Qualifications
  • 5-15 years of proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within an IT department or creating content for internal audiences.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to distill complex technical information into accessible language and communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience working on instructional or educational content.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Process-oriented, with experience creating or contributing to documentation and content processes.
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools and content management systems.
  • Strong understanding of technology and ability to learn technical concepts quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
