General Job Summary:

This is a full-time position located on the Emmetsburg and Estherville Campuses. This position is responsible for managing project requests and marketing initiatives for athletics, music, and student organizations at Iowa Lakes. Will oversee the maintenance and content of the athletics website, coordinate multimedia production, oversee the creation of promotional materials and social media content for assigned areas under the guidance of the Executive Director of Marketing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organization skills, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively to represent the Iowa Lakes brand across various platforms.

 Essential Duties / Responsibilities 

  1. Manage project requests from start to finish for all 16 NJCAA athletic teams, the Iowa Lakes Music Department, and student clubs and organizations.
  2. Schedule and plan strategic marketing initiatives while overseeing the creation of posters, videos, photography, and promotional media to be used across all platforms.
  3. Develop and manage social media content calendars for athletics, music, and student organizations.
  4. Assist the marketing department in the day-to-day operations pertaining to sports information marketing and the athletics program, including website maintenance.
  5. Plan, create, and distribute email campaigns for Laker Athletics and the Iowa Lakes Music Department using Mailchimp or a similar service for monthly or quarterly newsletters.
  6. Provide marketing support by capturing game-day photos and other event imagery for athletics and student organizations.
  7. Oversee game day management and set up for athletic events, ensuring the seamless operation of electronic scoreboards and the coordination of video content during the event.
  8. Maintain comprehensive project documentation using the established project management system.
  9. Create and edit videos for promotional use across multiple platforms.
  10. Proofread and edit marketing documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  11. Demonstrate a proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines and within budget constraints.
  12. Act as a liaison between the Marketing team and various departments across the college.
  13. Cultivate and sustain relationships with internal and external marketing contacts, prioritizing a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  14. Serve as the college photographer, showcasing proficiency in headshots an action photography.
  15. Measure and report the performance of digital marketing campaigns in alignment with marketing goals.

  1. Provide assistance and participation in fairs, career days, and any other events as required.
  2. Stay informed of the latest trends and technologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
  3. Acquire the ability to learn and operate various types of printing equipment as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong knowledge of social media platforms, website maintenance, and marketing strategies.
  2. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite products, Canva, and video editing software.
  3. Ability to create engaging visual and written content.
  4. Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  5. Proficiency in design and marketing software including Customer Relationship Management software, Canva, WordPress, Asana, Adobe Create Suite, Mailchimp and use an Apple or PC.
  6. Proficient in using Microsoft Office products.
  7. Thorough knowledge and understanding of traditional and digital marketing platforms, general marketing principles, and practices.
  8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  9. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  10. Represent the college positively and professionally to employees, students, visitors, and the general public.
  11. Must be enthusiastic and energetic in performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  12. Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  13. Must be able to read, understand, and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written communication.
  14. Ability to work independently, make critical decisions, and analyze complex issues.

 

Special Demands:

Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time; exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, walking, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motion frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, and viewing various types of close visual work constantly (67-100%). May be required to travel utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance.

 

Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate Degree in Marketing, Business Management or related field with one to four years of relevant experience required with demonstrated success in marketing role, marketing communications, and development of approaches, formats, and systems. Experience with brand management, project management and tools, tactics, and systems; communications social media technology platforms (i.e. WordPress), and photography.

 

Salary:  $22.12 per hour
