In addition to the work of the Sonoma County Winegrowers (SCW), there is a management services agreement with the Sonoma County Grape Growers Foundation (dba Fundacion De La Voz De Los Vinedos) which supports our local vineyard employees in the areas of education, resiliency and workforce development. Sonoma County Winegrowers is seeking an innovative and energetic marketing manager to provide event, marketing, communications and operations support to our local, regional, national and global marketing initiatives and partners. This person must love agriculture, family business and wine and believe in the long-term value of preserving our local farms in the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Manage creation, execution, and follow-up of both in-house and offsite events, media dinners, Somm education and outreach that supports Sonoma County brand and region in Sonoma County and around the US. Manage event activations to include design recommendation, vendor procurement, and budget management. Manage vision and planning of all event details, oversee contracts and detailed logistics, craft and implement event requirements checklist, collect and deliver all event materials, and prepare post-event follow-up and analysis. Manage on-site execution of events, including traveling to locations around the U.S., overseeing partners on-site, and representing Sonoma County Winegrowers at activations. Create thorough communications with all event partners, including Winery Collaborative members. Create impactful event marketing materials that elevate the Sonoma County brand. Create, track and monitor social media content for all platforms for pre- and post-events promotion. Create video content for website, YouTube, eblast and other outlets. Support branding efforts that elevate Sonoma County wine region and Sonoma County Winegrowers, including a focus on sustainability leadership, climate stewardship, world-class wines and the region’s diversity. Assist the Director of Marketing with the creation and execution of the annual marketing strategy, plan, and budget. Work with regional, national and global partners including Ford Pro, San Francisco Giants, Food & Wine Magazine, Landry’s, Wilbur Ellis and others. Understand key target markets and develop marketing programs for consumers, influencers, trade, media and Somms. Maintain relationships with key media, both trade and consumer, to ensure regular coverage of Sonoma County and its grapes and wines. Manage key SCW partnerships with our local trade associations and groups. Create presentations for annual meetings, board meetings and committee meetings. Other support as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) from four-year college or university with academic coursework in a relevant discipline (i.e., marketing, communications, journalism, public information, business administration or other closely related fields of study). Excellent English language communication skills including the ability to read and summarize material in a broad range of professional publications and the ability to write clear, concise and compelling reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Fluency in languages other than English will be considered a plus, especially Spanish. Knowledge and personal proficiency to use all Microsoft Office software as well as the Internet. Must be able to travel to support the promotion of the region.
