Commercial Lines Producer
Primary Role:
Sale of insurance to qualified prospects to ensure continued profitable agency growth, according to specific goals. Prospect for new clients, sell additional coverages to existing clients, and retain existing, assigned accounts.
Performance Standards:
Develop and implement an approved sales business plan, based on global agency sales goals. Meet annual sales goals.
Duties:
- Actively contact prospects, schedule appointments, make sales presentations, and close on new business accounts, balancing production to achieve desired mix of business.
- Maintain prospect list of clients of agency’s targeted business in agency prospect system.
- Complete applications for Account Managers to submit to appropriate markets.
- Cooperate in gathering information on assigned accounts for renewal marketing and handling per agency procedures. Deliver policies and/or binders on assigned accounts following agency guidelines and timeframes.
- Attend sales seminars, company sales meetings, or educational activities needed to improve sales techniques and stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the marketplace.
Qualifications:
- Two-year college degree required; four-year degree highly desirable.
- Active Indiana Property & Casualty license; any designations, i.e., AAI, CIC, ARM and/or CPCU highly desirable.
- Minimum 3 years’ of demonstrated, measurable commercial lines insurance sales success.
- Extensive knowledge of all lines of commercial insurance, including sophisticated and less common coverages, especially those products represented through agency is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and risk management techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong understanding of insurance sales methodology. Understanding of prospecting software tools is desirable.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of Applied Epic; will consider other agency management systems.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
