CBT Job Posting Feb. 14, 2025 Role Overview This role involves several aspects of design communications in a fast-paced and highly creative environment. The successful candidate will bring 5 years of directly relevant experience and be a self-motivated professional. He/she will work with the Director of Marketing to develop thoughtful content for storytelling to represent our highly diverse, active, and creative design firm, focusing on three main areas: development of social media content (both written and graphic) across multiple platforms; coordination of a wide range of design awards submissions; and organization and coordination of architectural photo shoots and internal events. The successful candidate is a creative and meticulous communications professional with proven experience in the A/E/C industry who is at ease with multiple technology programs. He/she also has a high level of interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with professionals in the firm and many external parties. Strong interpersonal communication, detailed administrative capabilities, creative thinking, and impeccable writing and editorial storytelling abilities are indispensable. Social/Digital and Public Relations Work alongside Director of Marketing and PR firm to curate and produce thoughtful social content that reflects CBT’s strategic goals. Develop media plan in coordination with external PR consultant. Develop a social media content calendar and execute it. Interface directly with CBT’s external PR consultant for materials, presentations, and miscellaneous content. Develop content regarding projects, people, processes, and thought leadership, working with the marketing team to incorporate imagery, text, and video. Identify KPIs, and audit/report on the effectiveness of CBT’s digital platforms. Increase engagement with digital content (and website interaction) via frequent & consistent posts with strategic messaging. Feature thought leadership from practice area experts and other staff through self-published content. Maintain digital library of content – blog, videos, podcast, etc. – to be repurposed for various efforts. Draft and publish posts to CBT’s News and Ideas website pages. Assist with special projects – video, internal exhibits, podcasts, blogs. Coordinate photography with internal staff for internal and external events. Photography CBT’s projects range from workplace interiors to multifamily residential towers, civic and academic architecture, laboratories, and renovation projects. The candidate will: Spearhead the major activities associated with project photography, including planning and coordinating pre- and post-shoot logistics, researching and selecting photographers, and overseeing shoots in alignment with the firm’s greater PR goals. Provide art direction/support, bringing a keen eye for design and perspective, as well as creative problem-solving and the ability to interpret all scales and types of buildings. Design Awards The successful candidate will: Identify award opportunities and objectives annually. Develop and maintain a master awards calendar and track progress. Prepare and draft award submission content, including project descriptions, graphic content, and select photos. Skillfully respond to design award competitions with compelling and customized submissions that effectively convey the excellence of each entry. Coordinate with the graphic design department for programs with layout/portfolio requirements. Possess persuasive, creative, and focused writing skills. Manage, interpret, and plan each submission effort in collaboration with the design team and principal in charge. Candidates holding a degree in communications, design, and/or art with practical application will be the most successful. The selected candidate will possess the skills described above and have at least five years of directly relevant experience. This position requires occasional travel, dawn/dusk photo shoots, and flexibility to meet deadlines.
