Opportunity Disciplines: Film/Video/Media, All Performing Arts, All Visual Arts Description: BRIClab offers emerging to mid-career artists essential support and opportunities to share their work across three creative tracks –

Contemporary Art ,

Film+ TV , and

Video Art . The residency aims to build a stronger and more diverse artistic community in Brooklyn by fostering relationships, supporting long-term growth, and creating a pipeline of engagement with BRIC. All residents receive a $2,500 stipend, mentorship, skills-based learning and professional development, and documentation of their work. Additional support, in the form of funding, space, access to equipment and media classes, and other resources vary according to tracks. The 2025-26 BRIClab cohort will share their work during public programs in Spring and Summer 2026. ABOUT THE TRACKS: BRIClab Contemporary Art : An interdisciplinary, community-oriented residency program that provides emerging and early-career artists with studio space and professional support to develop and advance their practice. Applications are reviewed by BRIC staff members, BRIClab Contemporary Art alumni, and art professionals. Five artists will be selected for the 2025-26 BRIClab Contemporary Art cohort, and the residency period will run from August 2025 - June 2026.

bricartsmedia.org/briclab/contemporaryart BRIClab Video Art : A residency through BRIC’s Media Education and Contemporary Art Departments to support the creation of a video, film short, or longer work-in-progress. Applications are reviewed by a panel of artist alumni and BRIClab program managers. Six artists will be selected for the 2025-26 BRIClab Video Art cohort, and the residency period will run from September 2025 - September 2026.

bricartsmedia.org/briclab/videoart BRIClab Film+ TV : Incubates innovative and ambitious documentary filmmakers working on short form, episodic, or feature length non-fiction films. Filmmakers are chosen through an open call and by a diverse panel of BRIClab program managers and alumni, as well as BRIC staff members from across multiple disciplines. Three residencies will be awarded for the 2025-26 cohort, and the residency period will run from September 2025 - May 2026.
