About the Role

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strategic and visionary mindset to foster growth within our Healthcare studio while developing and leading a high-performing team. As a co-leader with our Interior Design division, you will possess outstanding communication skills and a collaborative spirit to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Your experience of 15+ years, coupled with a robust network in the healthcare sector, will enable you to cultivate client relationships, oversee project performance, and mentor a dedicated team. This position requires a minimum on-site presence of two days per week at our offices.

What You'll Do:

  • Foster a transdisciplinary design approach by collaborating with the Seattle-based Healthcare Studio Co-Leader.
  • Champion design excellence through regular project reviews to meet firm standards and client expectations.
  • Develop relationships with healthcare providers, updating them on project progress and addressing concerns proactively.
  • Collaborate with fellow leaders to establish and execute strategic annual business goals and tactics.
  • Drive business development initiatives to expand our studio’s portfolio and client base.
  • Monitor the financial health of studio projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules.
  • Provide leadership across ongoing projects, aiding project leaders in delivering outstanding results.
  • Conduct regular project reviews to guarantee efficiency, profitability, and quality in project performance.
  • Lead quarterly reviews for team members setting clear goals and offering constructive feedback.
  • Ensure optimal resource allocation to satisfy and surpass project demands.
  • Mentor staff consistently to promote professional and leadership growth.
  • Oversee the annual strategic planning sessions, setting ambitious yet achievable studio goals.
  • Represent the firm at industry networking events to cultivate and expand client relationships.
  • Promote the implementation and tracking of sustainability initiatives within projects.
  • Research and integrate the latest design trends and innovations into studio projects.
  • Collaborate with other studio leaders to share insights and best practices.
  • Engage in industry events, business development activities, and client meetings.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture.
  • Current licensed architect with NCARB certification.
  • 15+ years of experience in healthcare projects.
  • Established relationships within the healthcare sector and industry leaders.
  • Thorough understanding of building regulations and codes, including FGI, DOH, Energy Codes, ADA, and zoning requirements.
  • Expertise in proposal writing and contract negotiations with clients in the healthcare field.
  • Experience in integrating architecture and interior design throughout the design process.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-phased healthcare projects.
