About The Role

We are on the lookout for a talented User Interface Engineer to join our innovative team at Augment Code. In this key role, you will work on user interface design and implementation, collaborating across various disciplines to influence product design and backend integration. Currently, we are focused primarily on enhancing Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as VS-Code and JetBrains products.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with design experts, AI researchers, and systems engineers to innovate and enhance Augment's AI for Code Client.
• Design and develop intuitive user interfaces for Augment, starting with IDE extensions and plugins.
• Work alongside the systems engineering team to streamline frontend-backend integration.
• Partner with a dynamic team of AI researchers and systems engineers to guide the technical direction of Augment's system, exploring the best methodologies for creating initial AI models and addressing future programming assistance challenges.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in front-end technologies: Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Kotlin, and Java (or similar).
• Proven track record of delivering UI/UX workflows, ideally in the development tools sector.
• A strong understanding of the developer experience with the ability to collaborate with a diverse array of stakeholders, including users, designers, AI researchers, and systems engineers.
