We are looking for an Associate Creative Director, Performance Marketing to join the creative team at Whatnot! Our small but mighty team is responsible for building the Whatnot brand and crafting best-in-class creative across physical and digital experiences. As a core member of the team, you’ll play a key role in leading the strategy, development, and execution of high-performing creative assets across international marketing channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end processes, from initial brainstorms to final handoff, to deliver standout work that drives conversion and engagement.
  • Establish a steady pipeline of relevant, high-performing creative at a global scale for ongoing testing and iteration that successfully balances performance goals with brand ambitions.
  • Analyze performance data and testing results to uncover and share insights in creative lookbacks with stakeholders, refine creative direction and strategies, and drive better outcomes.
  • Stay ahead of trends, emerging platforms, and creative best practices to keep our marketing fresh, effective, and culturally resonant.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to team members and external partners, fostering a collaborative environment of creative excellence.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies and contractors as needed to scale creative production efficiently.

Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our New York City, San Francisco, or Los Angeles hubs.

As our Associate Creative Director, Performance Marketing you should have 10+ years of experience in performance creative roles with an emphasis on paid social, plus:

  • 2-4+ years of experience in a lead role executing projects independently, including in-house experience at a multi-sided brand.
  • Proven track record of leading creative development from concept to execution, clearly articulating strategies and concepts to creators, designers, copywriters, and video editors.
  • Deep understanding of audience behavior, established and emerging digital marketing trends and tools, specifically paid and organic social, across all ad platforms.
  • Skilled at interpreting performance data, leveraging analytics tools to refine creative strategies and enhance campaign effectiveness.
  • Ability to set and achieve performance marketing goals, managing budgets and campaigns at scale, with the awareness to pivot and adapt as priorities shift.
  • Experience reacting to cultural moments with timely, relevant social content that resonates.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, motivated by both creativity and results.
  • Passion for exploring how brands can intersect with culture.
  • Naturally curious and proactive, with a growth mindset and a high standard for quality.
  • You thrive on feedback, view it as a tool for growth, and are motivated to consistently elevate your work.
  • High-growth startup, marketplace or creator-focused platform experience preferred.

Salary: $170,000/year to $230,000/year + benefits + equity. The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including level, relevant prior experience, skills and expertise.
