Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
This skilled position involves installing, troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, programming and servicing Audio/Video and Automation systems at customer sites. This person will organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient and professional execution of all assigned tasks.
Additional duties in this position may include:
- Efficiently pull, terminate, label, and test cabling between audio, video, data, and control equipment.
- Professional wire management.
- Professional rack layout and construction.
- Installation of all Network, Audio/Video, Automation, Cameras, Security, Lighting, Shading equipment, and other system products as part of the design.
- Provides technical support as needed for clients and staff.
- Create and maintain organized installation notes and system maps.
- Provide advice and suggestions to staff regarding the preparation and installation of AV materials.
- Facilitates needed equipment repairs, which includes calling vendor for RMA and returning equipment promptly to warehouse for shipment.
- Participates in project kickoff meetings as needed to understand and/or explain scopes of work.
- Maintain a clean working environment for all projects and service visits.
- Perform complete system tests after installation or service visit prior to leaving site.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience in high-end residential AV and Automation Systems installations and integration- Crestron, Control4, Lutron.
- CEDIA certifications are a plus.
- Manufacturer training certifications are a plus.
Preferred Skills
The Audio/Video Technician should have experience and skills in the following areas:
- Audio and Video systems experience with Crestron and Control4 preferred.
- Experience with Lutron Lighting Control; HomeWorksQS, RadioRa, and Caseta.
- Thorough understanding and experience with installation from rough-in to final.
- Networking knowledge and experience.
- Rack building experience.
- Programming experience.
- Alarm System knowledge and experience is a plus.
- Possess the ability to logically troubleshoot and correct system issues.
- Be a self-starter and capable of leading a project from inception to completion.
Work Environment
This job operates in a field environment. The field environment will be on construction sites or inside existing homes and buildings. Working conditions can change from one job to another.

Physical Demands
This is largely an active role. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials; Requires repetitive movement; climbing ladders, scaffolds, or poles; standing, walking, and running; using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls; and bending or twisting. Some specific demands may include:
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
Additional Notes
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am 3:30pm for construction projects and 8-4:30pm for service projects; Early arrival and/or overtime may be necessary.
