Description
We are looking for a talented and passionate designer to lead UX for Verily's data ecosystem, helping supercharge the healthcare industry with valuable data and biomedical research tools.
In this highly collaborative role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the design vision for all aspects of our data ecosystem, including Verily's Data Marketplace and Workbench, our biomedical research platform. You will work with other designers, UX researchers, product managers, software engineers, and data scientists to help to solve some of the biggest challenges for data producers and consumers. You will drive the end-to-end design process for a mix of projects, from discovery through to detailed execution, with the opportunity to distill complex problems into simple, beautiful, and powerful interfaces.
This is an individual contributor role on our Platform UX team, a group of designers, researchers, and content strategists supporting Verily's Precision Health Platform, our suite of professional tools, and foundational elements like the Verily Design System.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000 - $225,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the user experience for researchers, data generators, and data stewards, including designing interactions and interfaces, and planning/organizing the work of a small team of designers.
- Collaborate with user researchers, product managers, content strategists, and other domain experts to understand needs, identify opportunities, rapidly iterate solutions, and plan design strategy.
- Work with our engineering team to ensure designs are implemented effectively, and collaborate with them to find creative solutions when technical challenges arise.
- Help grow our UX team culture through mentorship, contributing to our design system, participating in design critiques, supporting cross-team design initiatives, and evangelizing UX through your quality of work, communication, and user advocacy.
Minimum Qualifications
- An outstanding portfolio of thoughtfully designed products, demonstrating work across the end-to-end design process, from developing strong conceptual foundations to refining the smallest details with clear rationale.
- Bachelor's degree in UX Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or related field with 8+ years of professional UX Design experience in enterprise software, consumer products, medical devices or other relevant areas.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with proven success working and aligning with cross-functional stakeholders such as product managers, researchers, and software engineers.
- Familiarity with Figma as well as the technical intricacies of designing accessible, responsive web applications.
- M.S./M.A./M.F.A. or other advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Past work that focuses on Enterprise products, Healthcare, Medical services, or other relevant areas.
- Experience designing rich data visualizations, complex professional tools, flexible enterprise platforms, AI utilities, or related design solutions.
- Proven track record in bringing projects to launch into a commercial market.
