Interior Designer (Mid-Level, 8-10 Years Experience, NCIDQ Required)
Location:
Washington, DC K Dixon Architecture (KDA) is seeking a
talented and experienced Interior Designer
to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to
lead design efforts on diverse projects
in higher education, science & technology, healthcare, commercial, civic, and government sectors. The ideal candidate will be involved in
all phases of the design process , from programming and concept development to construction documentation and administration. Responsibilities: Lead and contribute
to multiple interior design projects, ensuring high-quality design solutions. Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop
cohesive, innovative designs . Develop space planning, material selections, and interior details aligned with project goals and client expectations. Prepare and oversee
construction documents, specifications, and FF&E packages . Assist in
construction administration
by reviewing submittals, coordinating with contractors, and conducting site visits. Stay informed on
industry trends, building codes, and sustainability practices . Present design concepts to clients, guiding discussions to align with project vision and budget. Collaborate with junior designers, providing mentorship and feedback. Qualifications: 8-10 years of professional experience
in interior design. NCIDQ certification required. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in
Interior Design or Architecture . Proficiency in
Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office . Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Experience with
higher education, science & technology, healthcare, or government projects
is a plus. Ability to work both
independently and collaboratively
