Role Overview
As the Director, Creative Services, you will lead the creative vision and execution for all visual, digital, and print materials that support our marketing initiatives and elevate our brand to new heights. Reporting to the National Executive Director of Marketing, the leader will oversee the development and execution of creative strategies that enhance brand perception, amplify awareness, and drive client and team member engagement. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creative design and storytelling, a digital first mindset, a passion for innovation, and ability to inspire team members to push boundaries and elevate their work.
Primary ResponsibilitiesCreative Vision and Brand Stewardship
- Serves as the creative leader and visionary, conceptualizing fresh, innovative ideas and the confidence to express them.
- Oversees the translation of the brand identity into creative executions, ensures visual expression and messaging align to express our unique brand promise.
- Leads creative ideation across all areas, from concepting to production and digital design to social-first content, developing concepts that resonate with our target audience to drive brand awareness and engagement, while laddering back to core brand messaging.
Digital First Mindset
- Has deep knowledge of all digital channels – web, email marketing, social media, video, and other digital platforms – and the proven ability to drive creative excellence.
- Conceives, designs, and executes high-quality digital and interactive deliverables that translate into immersive visual storytelling experiences.
- Champions the importance of data-driven insights to optimize design and digital execution.
Creative Excellence and Innovation
- Routinely performs creative competitive analysis, to inform creative strategy and proposes solutions to achieve business objectives, build brand value, and promote competitive differentiation.
- Stays informed on emerging design trends, modern technologies, and creative tools and storytelling techniques to maintain creative relevance and effectiveness.
- Fosters innovation and pushes creative boundaries by identifying emerging brand and creative trends and treatments, encouraging the creative team to experiment with new concepts, tools, and technologies to maintain a competitive edge and drive demand.
- Develops creative systems and workflows that allow for agility, empowering creatives to do their best work, and promote business growth.
Talent Management, Mentorship & Development
- Nurtures creative talent and fosters an environment that promotes innovative thinking and creative solutions, inspiring team members to push boundaries and elevate their work.
- Takes a hands-on approach to mentor and coach staff; provides actionable and clear feedback, to help support their professional growth and deliver the best possible work.
- Conducts brainstorming sessions, where ideas are freely exchanged, to continually improve creative expression and digital user experience.
- Empowers team members by providing guidance to prioritize work, problem-solve, and refine their craft, ensures professional growth and alignment with organizational needs.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), and digital design tools like Figma.
- Knowledge of WordPress, Google Analytics, Open Asset, and Asana preferred.
- Proven success leading creative strategies and developing concepts that support both national and regional demand generation campaigns.
- Strong digital expertise – web, email marketing, social media, video, and other digital platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to advocate for creative concepts and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong people skills and ability to interface with team members within our design studios and corporate functions across the firm, as well as with leadership.
- Excellent time and project management skills; ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively coordinate projects, shift priorities and delegate as needed to keep tasks on schedule.
- Minimum of 10+ years of leadership experience leading an in-house creative team or in a similar role in an advertising or interactive agency.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, advertising, or related field.
- Experience in Architecture, Engineering or Construction (A/E/C) field preferred.

The wage range that the Company expects to pay is $112,000 - 157,000 annually.
