Job Description
The Art Director - Photography and Video will be a key creative leader at Giant Noise, working closely with the Creative Director to execute and elevate the agency’s creative vision. This multidimensional role requires expertise in campaign development, creative pitches, and hands-on production across photography and video. The Art Director will be responsible for overseeing creative execution from concept to completion, while collaborating across departments to deliver compelling, high-quality work.
The Art Director will also drive innovation in creative strategy, staying at the forefront of industry trends and technologies to create visually impactful and engaging creative material that resonates with our clients and their audiences. As part of a collaborative and high-performing team, this role will bring a strong creative voice, inspire and mentor others, and push the boundaries of visual storytelling to develop bold, industry-leading creative solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Leadership
- Partner with the Creative Director to conceptualize and implement creative strategies aligned with client objectives.
- Creating compelling presentations and assets for both social and traditional advertising.
- Bring a distinct creative point of view to develop bold, culturally relevant work for partners.
- Oversee conceptual development of pitches and creative executions in production.
- Apply strong visual storytelling expertise across all creative deliverables.
- Oversee the execution of creative deliverables, ensuring they align with the agency’s standards of excellence.
Production Oversight
- Demonstrate extensive experience in pre and post-production processes for video and still photography.
- Direct high-quality photography and video campaign creative.
- Oversee shot list creation from brief to execution.
- Oversee props, styling, and production build outs in pre-production and on set or on location.
- Serve as creative lead on set, ensuring productions meet both Giant Noise and client standards, ensuring all on-set activities run smoothly and meet project timelines.
- Give guidance in post-production processes, including editing, color grading, and final delivery to meet brand standards and strategic goals.
- Establish and manage a network of freelance talent for high-volume periods.
Team Management & Mentorship
- Manage and mentor photography, videography, and production staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing creative environment.
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and support to enhance both individual and team capabilities.
- Serve as the key liaison between creative studios, ensuring seamless communication, efficient workflows, and alignment with project goals.
Collaboration
- Work with the Creative Director and cross-functional teams (PR and Digital) to understand project requirements and translate them into impactful visual solutions.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure creative alignment and budget adherence.
- Support Creative Director in new business development and pitches.
Creative Problem Solving
- Innovate and adapt quickly to solve creative challenges and meet evolving project needs.
- Maintain a forward-thinking approach to creativity with a strong passion for music, entertainment, art, film, tv, pop culture, and emerging trends & technologies.w
Quality Assurance
- Review and approve final creative deliverables, ensuring alignment with client goals and brand standards.
- Ensure all visual content is cohesive and supports integrated storytelling across channels.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Technical Skills
- 8+ years of experience in creative roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity
- Strong portfolio demonstrating success in agency or in-house creative roles, with emphasis on CPG, retail, tourism, restaurant, hospitality or adjacent clients.
- Proven track record of leading creative teams and managing complex production processes.
- Intermediate to advanced expertise of production design and/or prop styling.
- Advanced expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom)
- Strong proficiency in Google suite, particularly in slides presentation design.
- Experience in integrated campaigns spanning PR, digital, and creative.
- Ability to travel in-state 20% of any given month or out-of-state 10% of any given month for shoots, pitching, or in-person client presentations.

- A background in Photography, Videography, or Production Design roles.
- Experience in photo or video production, with the ability to step in on shoots when needed due to team absences or overflow work.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Physical Demands: Sitting 50% of the time, standing 50% of the time.
- Working Hours: Typically, work hours are from 9:00 AM CST to 6:00 PM CST, Mondays through Fridays. Depending on the type of content, irregular hours may be required, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate clients' schedules or capture events as they occur.
- Physical Ability: Ability to kneel, squat, or stand for extended periods to capture images. Capable of lifting 20-50 lbs. as necessary.
- Manual Dexterity: Regular use of hands and fingers for computer use.
- Sensory Function: Everyday use of vision and auditory senses, including exposure to blue light from computers.
- Environment: Work in various environments, including indoor environmentally controlled spaces, outdoor locations, depending on project requirements. Travel may be required for on-location shoots, covering events, or working on assignments in different regions.
- Communication: Daily communication with peers and clients is essential to the role.
- Cognitive Demands: Ability to maintain cognitive thinking and logical reasoning throughout tasks and responsibilities.
