Job Description

Develop and implement space planning, programming, and utilization space calculations for

United-owned or managed facilities across its network.

Collaborate with internal and external consultants to develop strategically focused design plans for various project types, including enhancements to operational support areas, public-facing spaces, and the implementation of new initiatives.

Review and provide feedback on architectural and engineering plans submitted by external

designers and consultants to ensure alignment with project requirements, industry standards, and design intent.

Collaborate with Uniteds Corporate Real Estate project managers to develop and deliver

conceptual design plans and supporting documentation for executive and financial review and approval.

Lead the development and improvement of United Space Guidelines in collaboration with the design team, including FF&E, material selection and application, and furniture layout.

Provide design expertise for new and evolving initiatives to enhance Uniteds built

environments.

Lead external design professionals contracted by United and act as a liaison between design

teams and United stakeholders.

Effectively manage time and workload, prioritizing tasks based on leadership guidance.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture

5+ years of relevant experience within interior design.

2+ years at an airport.

Experience in facility design, space planning and programming, development of standards, and documentation

Proficiency in creating and delivering design presentations, with strong collaboration, problem solving, and clear communication skills

Knowledge of construction codes and accessibility regulations

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Suite

Ability to be in the office up to three days per week (Willis Tower, Chicago, IL) NCIDQ certification preferred null
