Social Media ManagerMarketing DepartmentExemptJOB DESCRIPTIONThe Social Media Manager will lead the social media team in managing the social media presence for Lakewood Church and Joel Osteen Ministries on more than 15 social media sites/platforms. With approximately 40,000,000 followers across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram this position is a key part of Lakewood's digital footprint. In this exciting and always-developing role, the Social Media Manager will help bring hope to the world, and impact lives through Lakewood's world-class, year-round social programming and global broadcasting.This position reports to the Marketing - Brand Director.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSSocial Media Strategy Strategically develop and implement the editorial calendar for all distribution channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, etc) Manage the daily content on social channels that build meaningful connections with community members Develop and execute the paid media plan to support platform growth and engagement efforts in partnership with vendors Coordinate with the Marketing, Public Relations, and Communication teams to ensure brand consistency Ensure brand consistency in written copy through tone, voice, terminology, and accuracy Stay up to date with social media technology and formatting trends and implement them into all channels Team Leadership Coach, motivate, and develop a team of direct reports through training, guidance, and support to ensure consistent and high-quality output Manage the community engagement teams that monitor live social streams Collaborate with Senior Management on the most effective monitoring, training, and development of Social Media Coordinators and Specialist Manage the schedule and staff coverage of weekend services, holidays, and all major events Ensure the most effective security measures by establishing emergency on-call systems and contact numbers in case of platform hacking Community Engagement Monitor and respond to messages, comments, and inquiries on social platforms in a timely and pastoral manner Foster meaningful online conversations and connections within the church community Work closely with church leaders and volunteers to gather content and share storiesAnalytics & Reporting Track, analyze, and interpret social media metrics, including growth, engagement, reach, and other KPIs Use data to make informed decisions and optimize social media strategy Provide regular reports to Senior Management team on social media performance and opportunities for improvement Capture, analyze, and respond to appropriate social data, insights, and best practices Provide extensive monthly KPI reports to management across all platforms Collaboration Collaborate with the Marketing team channels and other departments to ensure social media efforts are integrated with church-wide communication plans Support other ministries by promoting their initiatives and events on social media Other related duties as assignedMINISTERIAL DUTIESAs an employee of Lakewood Church, you are a part of an over 60-year legacy of faith. You are responsible for communicating the Church's beliefs and our mission to our congregants, to maintain a lifestyle consistent with the Scriptures, and are required to belong to the Church as part of our faith community.This will also include: Regular attendance at Church services and classes Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time when needed by the ChurchQUALIFICATIONS Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church's vision, values, and core beliefs Demonstrate a Christ-like character Proficient in social engagement tools and reporting (Hootsuite, Sprout, etc) Proven success in writing professional, social and/or marketing copy, with the ability to produce compelling, digestible copy while maintaining church messaging Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing Fluent in both the creative and analytical sides of marketing and media Previous use of analytic information to determine appropriate target audiences Demonstrate a commitment and proficiency to excellence in social customer service techniques such as empathy, patience, advocacy, and conflict resolution Experience in effectively leading a team around shared goals and deliverables Availability to work evenings, weekends, and special holidays as needed Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Marketing or Communications degree preferred or equivalent professional work experience Direct experience using social media management tools required (Hootsuite, Sprout, Spredfast, etc) 4+ years of experience with B2C social media marketing or content development 4+ years of leadership experience in the digital marketing and/or social space
