Nemours is seeking a Senior Manager, Creative Design to join our Nemours Children’s Health team in Wilmington, DE or Jacksonville, FL. This is a hybrid position.
Nemours Children’s Health is seeking a talented and strategic Sr. Creative Design Manager to design and oversee a team comprised of lead and creative designers along with content marketing writers. The ideal candidate is a seasoned design professional with a keen eye for aesthetics, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record in delivering high-end design and guiding content teams to deliver compelling and innovative creative solutions for varied and executive audiences.
Reporting into the AVP, Creative Content, this individual is pivotal in supporting and enhancing the visual design of executive presentations along with design solutions that unify our brand, support strategic marketing campaigns, products, services, and communications. This role ensures design marketing content writing support is in alignment with our brand standards and organizational goals.
Essential Functions
- Creative Vision Development: Support and communicate a clear creative vision that aligns with the company’s goals, ensuring cohesive messaging across all projects.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship: Guide and inspire the design team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and skill development through mentorship and feedback.
- Brand Consistency Oversight: Ensure all creative output aligns with the brand’s identity, values, and standards across all platforms and campaigns.
- Creative Content Direction, Design & Copywriting: Translate requests into clear objectives giving direction on aesthetic, tone, and goals for each project. This role does require hands-on design and copy capabilities while leading a talented team of designers and marketing copywriters.
- Quality Control: Review and approve design work to maintain high standards, ensuring projects meet aesthetic, functional, and strategic goals.
- Trend Analysis and Innovation: Stay up to date on industry trends, incorporating new design approaches and technologies to keep creative work fresh and competitive.
- Project and Workload Planning: Align with Marketing Project Services to best support and improve creative workflow from ideation and production through to completion.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Partner with Marcom’s Consumer Insights to track project performance, analyzing results and using insights to refine creative strategies and enhance future outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferable in creative, communications, business management or related field.
- Excellent interpersonal / communications skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal staff, members of other departments, and external contractors / vendors.
- Strong staff management skills to lead, coach, and mentor staff. Ability to work in a dynamic, Agile team environment and appropriately set priorities.
- Understanding of human centered design. Interest in partnering cross-functionally Visual Designers with UX/UI designers and other team members to involve human perspective in all phases of the design process (i.e. user research, journey maps, personas, user flows, prototypes, interaction patterns, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of current Adobe CC design software (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and digital signage platforms (i.e. Spectrio).
- Strong understanding of print production (i.e. pre-press, color separations, 2- and 4- color process with offset printing, obtaining estimates, bidding jobs, paper specs, etc.); web production (i.e. web color theory, basic web design in CMS-based web development environments, digital web assets, etc.); and digital signage (i.e. display control software, image / video inventory, equipment and network infrastructure, deployment, etc.).
- Ability to understand business / branding objectives as well as user goals and apply that understanding to develop and extend our reach.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines. Ability to work end-to-end through the design process. Experience in JIRA is a plus.
- Certification in creative or brand strategy is a plus.
- Requires 10+ years work experience in design management or related role.
