Meadow Breeze Day Camp is looking to fill positions for our 8-week summer camp programs, grades Kindergarten to 11th grade. LCA is a grade 6-12 independent Christian school located in Lexington, MA. Since 1966, Meadow Breeze Day Camp at LCA has been offering an exceptional traditional day camp for kids of all ages.
Meadow Breeze offers a variety of camps such as a Day Camp, Sports Camps, Launch Trips and a Leaders-In-Training program. This position is for a Music Instructor. As a Summer Camp Music Instructor, you will be responsible for creating a vibrant and engaging musical experience for campers. This role combines musical expertise with the ability to inspire campers of various ages and skill levels, fostering a love for music and creativity.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum Development:
Design and develop age-appropriate music curriculum and lesson plans for campers.
Create activities that encompass various aspects of music, including instrument playing, singing, and music theory.
Instrument Instruction:
Provide instruction on various musical instruments, adapting to the skill levels of individual campers.
Organize and lead group lessons and individual coaching sessions.
Choir and Singing Activities:
Lead choir or singing activities, teaching vocal techniques and encouraging campers to express themselves through singing.
Arrange and direct camp performances or showcases.
Ensemble and Band Coordination:
Organize and facilitate ensemble or band activities, allowing campers to collaborate and perform together.
Foster teamwork, cooperation, and musical creativity within the group.
Music Appreciation:
Introduce campers to different genres of music, composers, and musical traditions.
Create an environment that encourages a love for music and exploration of diverse musical styles.
Instrument Maintenance:
Oversee the care and maintenance of musical instruments, ensuring they are in good condition.
Teach campers the basics of instrument care and handling.
Performance Coordination:
Plan and coordinate musical performances or events, allowing campers to showcase their talents.
Work with other camp staff to integrate musical performances into the overall camp program.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
Provide regular updates on musical activities and camper progress.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other camp staff to integrate music activities into the overall camp program.
Coordinate with fellow instructors for interdisciplinary projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in playing and teaching various musical instruments.
Previous experience in music instruction or conducting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well with children and create a positive camp experience.
Enthusiasm for fostering a love for music and musical creativity.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 yrs of age or older
Complete a CORI background check
Experience in working in a summer camp preferred; experience working with children is a must
Have the appropriate certifications
CPR & First Aid certification (preferred)
Attend all training sessions
Ability to lift 30 lbs

DATES: June 23-August 15, 2025, Mon-Fri
TIME: Day camps run every week day from 8:00AM-3:30PM and AfterCamp runs every week day from 3:30PM-5:30PM
PAY: Seasonal; $15-$25/hr based on experience
SCHEDULE: Camp training & orientation is June 23rd-June 25th, 2025. Apart from our sports camps, camp staff are asked to work all 8 weeks of camp. There is no camp on July 4th. Camp staff need to arrive each day at 7:30AM and are expected to stay until 4:00PM.
