The landscape of social media and advertising changes rapidly with an ever-growing base of users. In 2024, global social media users will surpass 5 billion, accounting for 63.7% of the world's population, and is expected to exceed 6 billion by 2028. The Social Marketing team owns Amazon’s automated advertising on social media networks such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Snapchat. Our mission is to understand our customers in these social networks and create engaging and relevant ads that delight customers by helping them find the products and Amazon services they want, even before they know they want them. Social Advertising requires rapid change to constantly integrate Amazon ads with new social media partners, experiment with different forms of advertisement, reach customers in the most effective ways, bring new customers to Amazon, and help customers find products and stay engaged with Amazon.

We are seeking a Sr. Product Marketing Manager who can create a set of successful channel strategies, execute well-structured tests, roll out successful campaigns, influence technical teams to build automated solutions, and optimize performance over time against a clear set of performance goals. The person in this role will be responsible for building social marketing strategy on emerging content sources like video, Gen AI, or creator content. The primary objectives are to encourage customers to take high value actions and generate revenue through a marketing strategy that can automate and scale these channels.
As a Sr. Product Marketing Manager, you will collaborate with social media apps (Meta, Pinterest, TikTok, Snap, and more) to develop first-of-its-kind products, and partner with marketers, product managers, and engineering to bring new technical capabilities to life. You will create the go to market strategy for these channels, and gain alignment from senior leadership. You will launch experiments and manage performance using systems like Tableau. You will be trusted to operate with independence to explore areas where long-term strategy has not yet been defined.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience in digital marketing, A/B testing, and excel in looking at data to make recommendations. Furthermore, you will be highly innovative and comfortable driving new programs from conception through execution in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment. You must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, be analytical and possess excellent problem-solving skills. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and excel in stakeholder relationship management. You will be passionate about your work, see the strategic big-picture while still remaining detail-oriented and organized. You will bring 10+ years of marketing background with experience in online retail and programmatic advertising and social marketing, and be effective in managing and delivering large cross-functional initiatives. Fluency in data systems (Tableau, SQL) and Excel for self-service data analysis purposes is a must.
Key job responsibilities
Create the go to market strategy for emerging and nascent content sources (video, creator content, Gen AI etc). Work cross-functionally with engineering to develop new automated programs from end to end. Define experiment learning agendas and optimize campaign set ups to drive meaningful insights. Define the metrics and processes needed to standardize the management of advertising campaigns. Work directly with social networks to launch new product betas and explore marketing potential. Design and carry out well-structured experiments (including tracking, measuring, and reporting). Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and teams to iterate on objectives and opportunities. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience - Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs - Bachelor's degree - Experience communicating results to senior leadership - Proficiency with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - MBA - Experience managing external partners to develop marketing programs - Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and project management counterparts to deliver online products/services. - Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and actions. - Strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail and ability to multitask. - Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
