Amazon Ads is looking for a talented, customer-focused lead visual designer to join the Amazon Ads marketing Creative Studio design team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver designs based on existing brand guidelines in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a strong understanding of visual and motion design, knowing best practices including layout, hierarchy, typography, and illustration. The ability to manage the production of multiple projects, communicate efficiently with key stakeholders, and work cross-functionally is essential.
Key job responsibilities Designing strongly branded promotional graphics
Developing clean and effective templates and production outputs such as elevated presentations, and digital channels (website, email, social), with potential motion graphics implementation across all
Fulfilling multiple project requests while simultaneously meeting tight deadlines
Managing the creative request queue including request intake and resource assignment
Owning the Creative Studio “designer best practices” guidance, which centralizes project file structures, file naming, resources, and SOPs for on-boarding new team members
Managing the design request queue to traffic requests and properly allocate resources across our internal designers and external agencies, while being able to vocalize if requests are misguided or uninformed (and escalating those that do not adhere to brand guidelines, fall within internal or external capabilities, or provide sufficient time and/or budget)
Effectively communicating and ensuring the visual design represents the desired message within brand guidelines
Providing design feedback and approvals on certain projects as proxy for our Art Director and/or Creative Director
Basic Qualifications: Excellent working knowledge of Figma, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe After Effects, and Premiere
Strong knowledge of Project Management tools, such as Workfront
Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience with visual design and digital environments
Strong time management skills and ability to be self-directed as needed, while following the SOPs
Strong portfolio with engaging, diverse designs in the digital space, demonstrating a passion for motion and visual design and attention to detail
BA/BS in Visual Arts/Design or equivalent
Preferred qualifications: Motivated, solution oriented, organized, and accountable for their work and that of the team
Ability to animate within PowerPoint directly
Knowledge of Adobe Workfront
A day in the life You ensure overall alignment to scope and milestones, communication trade-offs, and proactively plan to maintain the priority of the brand and/or creative strategy throughout the design process
You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, drawing upon your expertise and design process to create structure and proactively plan ahead, peek around corners, and can see the next step (even when it doesn’t exist yet)
You are skilled in determining complex tradeoffs to prioritize resources and scalable solutions
You identify inefficiencies and remove bottlenecks, and are able to find a path forward in difficult situations
You define and independently manage escalation paths at critical milestones, and anticipate and mitigate potential blockers across all phases of a project
You introduce, develop, and ensure best design practices and processes, and communicate quality expectations organizationally
You have an eagerness to collaborate across disciplines with team members at all levels
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Have an available online portfolio
- 5+ years of design experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge of Adobe Workfront

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
