We partner with hospitals, medical professionals, and volunteers to bridge gaps in healthcare access and ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to receive quality care. Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced (Fundraiser/Grant Writer or Development Manager) to join our team in 2025. This role will be pivotal in driving the organization’s fundraising efforts, developing grant proposals, and cultivating relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for our mission and a proven track record in securing funding. Key Responsibilities: Grant Writing and Management: Identify, research, and apply for grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funding sources. Develop compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports that effectively communicate JHI's mission, impact, and funding needs. Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar to track submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and ongoing grant-related activities. Collaborate with JHI's program staff to gather data, stories, and outcomes to support grant applications and reports. Fundraising Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to meet annual and long-term revenue goals. Cultivate and manage relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners, ensuring regular communication and stewardship. Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to increase donor engagement and contributions. Utilize digital platforms, social media, and email marketing to support fundraising efforts and expand JHI’s donor base. Development and Donor Relations: Create and manage a donor database to track contributions, communication, and engagement activities. Develop personalized donor stewardship plans, including thank-you letters, impact reports, and recognition opportunities. Work closely with JHI leadership to identify major gift prospects and develop strategies to cultivate these relationships. Prepare presentations, newsletters, and other materials to communicate JHI's impact and funding needs to potential donors. Collaboration and Reporting: Collaborate with JHI's Executive Director, board members, and volunteers to maximize fundraising efforts and opportunities. Provide regular reports on fundraising activities, grant status, and progress toward revenue goals. Stay informed about trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities in fundraising and grant writing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field (advanced degree preferred). Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit development. Proven track record of securing grants and donations from foundations, corporations, and individual donors. Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives that inspire action. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Proficiency in using donor management systems (e.g., Salesforce, DonorPerfect) and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with digital fundraising, social media, and email marketing platforms is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Passion for JHI's mission and a deep understanding of the challenges facing underserved communities in accessing healthcare. Additional Requirements: Availability for occasional travel, primarily within the Boston area, to meet with donors and attend events.
