Position Summary:
The Fashion Technical Designer will collaborate closely with design and production teams to ensure garments meet the company's quality, fit, and construction standards. This role focuses on establishing precise points of measure, approving graded specifications, and serving as a liaison between design and manufacturing partners to bring concepts to fruition.
Salary Range:
$50K-$52K

Primary Responsibilities:
- Points of Measure (POM) Development: Identify and define critical measurement points on garments to ensure consistency and accuracy in sizing and fit.
- Graded Specification Approval: Review and approve graded specifications to maintain fit consistency across various sizes, ensuring adherence to brand standards.
- Fit Process Management: Conduct fit sessions by measuring garments, evaluating fit on models, and providing clear feedback to pattern makers and manufacturers to achieve the desired silhouette and functionality.
- Vendor Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with domestic and overseas vendors, addressing technical issues, providing clarifications, and ensuring timely delivery of samples and production.
- Quality Assurance: Review and approve samples at various stages, ensuring consistency with technical specifications and high-quality standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers to translate creative concepts into technical specifications, ensuring feasibility and manufacturability without compromising design intent.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical design within the fashion industry.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, and CAD software for creating technical sketches and specifications.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and textiles.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with PLM systems is a plus.
