As an instructional designer with GDIT, you will be responsible for designing and developing training programs using proven adult learning methodologies and techniques. This includes designing and developing engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer. If you enjoy directing structured adult learning activities, you will find this role to be both rewarding and challenging.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts on-site and/or in-house training classes, demonstrations, simulation exercises, and discussion groups for customers and/or employees.
  2. Collaborates with subject matter experts to identify audience’s training needs.
  3. Creates instructional goals and content that supports goals by applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods.
  4. Facilitates training classes and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
  5. Stays abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques.
  6. Evaluates and/or oversees contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs.
  7. Identifies the best method of training delivery based upon training needs.

What you must have:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Two or more years of experience with adult learning techniques, creating lesson plans and curriculum, and managing a LMS.
  3. Demonstrated experience delivering presentations and developing trainings in a classroom setting.
  4. Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
  5. Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  6. Texas Residency living within a reasonable driving distance (approx. 60 miles) of our El Paso, TX facility.

Even better if you have:

  1. Training or Instructional Design certification.
  2. Experience with content development software such as Adobe Articulate.
  3. Visual design skills and experience creating storyboards.
  4. Service Desk or Contact Center Experience.
  5. ITIL 4 and/or HDI SCA certification(s).

The likely salary range for this position is $51,000 - $69,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
