Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2:30pm - 6:30pm, availability for training and meetings on Fridays as scheduled
Overview
An ideal position for individuals that have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children. This role works with children in our after-school group program called "Pathfinders". The primary function of a PR Youth Specialist is assisting SED children/adolescents who meet the criteria for rehabilitative services, developing and implementing positive self-management skills thus enabling them to function effectively in their social environment, including their community, home, workplace, or school.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with children within a therapeutic group setting to assist them in social skill development through the utilization of a positive behavior support system to assist in progress towards their treatment goals.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for children.
- Assist in the delivery of scheduled group activities.
- Complete service notes in the electronic health record in accordance with SRMHW policy and procedure.
- Demonstrate and promote positive, professional working relationships with youth and co-workers.
- Transportation of clients to and from services in a company vehicle, if approved.
- Actively participate and encourage pro-social behavior and skill development while engaging youth in various activities such as outdoor games, arts and crafts, various social skills, and team-building exercises.
Job Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment background checks, motor vehicle record check for insurability, and pre-employment drug screen.
