Technical Writer – Contract to Hire

We are looking for a Technical Writer with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to create clear and concise release notes for our software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Strong grammar, attention to detail, and clarity.
  • Take ownership and manage workloads, meet deadlines, and ensure content accuracy.
  • Proficient in technical terms and vocabulary commonly used.
  • Follow the Style Guide and Microsoft Manual of Style, conducting peer reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance user documentation.
  • Represent the documentation team in meetings for guidance and clarification.
  • Understand Agile/Scrum methodology and software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with development teams and attend Scrum ceremonies to stay updated on product changes.
  • Write and maintain release notes in technical documentation software
  • Track and manage documentation tasks in Azure DevOps.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in technical writing.
  • Experience with Scrum methodologies and participation in Scrum ceremonies.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation software tools (ie MadCap Flare)
  • Azure DevOps experience
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow style guides.
  • Healthcare experience
Work Environment:
  • Remote work from home.
  • Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday. Specific business hours will depend on client needs.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • The person in this position must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, library stacks, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with clients and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
