We have an opening for an Audio Visual Production Intern who will provide first-hand experience to the work done within the Building Operations department in a major contemporary art museum. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about live event and media production by gaining hands-on experience in live sound, camera operation, lighting, video editing, livestreaming, and theatre craft.

WHAT WE OFFER

Throughout the internship, the Production Intern will:

  • Participate in setup, operation, and teardown of live sound systems for concerts and performances.
  • Assist in the operation of cameras, microphones, and lights for video shoots.
  • Aid in the video and audio post-production process by using video editing software and DAWs.
  • Help produce livestreams and implement accessibility services.
  • Assist in theatre production tasks in the MCA’s Edlis Neeson Theater.


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Current student or recent graduate from a degree program (up to one year post graduation)
  • Interest in contemporary art.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage assignments with attention to detail and strong organization skills.
  • Ability to perform occasional lifting (up to 60lbs).
  • General mobility throughout the museum.


WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • MCA Internships are geared towards current college students and recent grads (<1year) who are interested in contemporary art and have a passion for learning more about how museums work.
  • Candidates must be interested in exploring a potential career in the culture sector.
  • Interns must be able to work 24 hours per week onsite for the entirety of the internship period (May 19, 2025 through August 8, 2025).

This is a part-time temporary position, with a schedule determined by department and operational needs; may include evenings and weekends if needed for exhibitions or events. This position is not eligible for hybrid work arrangement per the Remote Work Policy.
