NeueHouse currently operates across four different, but equally iconic, properties in New York City and Los Angeles:
- Our Madison Square (MSQ) House is situated in New York’s iconic Flatiron District, was previously home for Tepper Galleries, a well-known Manhattan auction house for international artists and collectors in the 1930s – and neighbors the 69th Regiment Armory where the first International Exhibition of Modern Art was held.
- Our Hollywood House (HWD), which sits on Sunset Boulevard, is one of LA’s most celebrated buildings and occupies the original CBS Studio (the world’s first structure built intentionally for broadcast). Here genre- defining artists from Orson Wells and Lucille Ball to Janis Joplin, the Beach Boys, and Bob Dylan built their legacy.
- Our Venice Beach House (VB) was once the creative home to some of the most influential creative luminaries in art and entertainment including Hal Ashby, Oliver Stone, and David Hockney, NeueHouse Venice Beach is a new work, social, and cultural hub for the Venice creative community.
The Role
The Director of AV and IT oversees both private event audiovisual services and internal IT services and personnel for NeueHouse Hollywood, while also supporting productions at Bradbury Building (Downtown) and Venice Beach House as needed. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless AV and IT operations across multiple properties, managing inventory, overseeing maintenance, and ensuring all equipment is operating at peak performance.
Reporting directly to the Director of Event Operations and working closely with local Sales Managers, the Senior Director of Events and Sales, and key stakeholders, the Director will manage all AV and IT personnel, including third-party vendors and service providers. This role requires a strong leader who can balance technical expertise, strategic planning, budgeting, and client relations to ensure exceptional execution for both private events and internal programming.
Requirements
Strategic Leadership & Innovation
· Develop and execute the strategic vision for all audio/visual and IT functions, ensuring seamless integration and innovation across in-house operations and live events.
· Align AV and IT strategies to enhance event production quality and guest experiences.
· Monitor and analyze industry and technology trends, identifying opportunities to incorporate cutting-edge AV solutions.
AV & IT Operations Management
· Oversee all IT and AV operations across NeueHouse Hollywood, with support for Bradbury and Venice Beach productions as needed.
· Ensure comprehensive operational knowledge and proactive maintenance of all audio/visual and IT building systems.
· Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AV and IT functions to maintain consistency and best practices across all properties.
· Establish a preventative maintenance schedule for AV equipment, ensuring all systems remain in prime working condition.
· Ensure optimal environmental conditions for AV racks and other critical IT infrastructure.
Event Management & Technical Excellence
· Collaborate with private event clients, brand partners, and internal teams to deliver exceptional event experiences while ensuring technical excellence.
· Oversee the design, setup, technical checks, and quality assurance for all event spaces.
· Provide executive oversight for live event audio production, lighting, and broadcast studio operations.
· Manage Broadcast Studio bookings and operations, supporting a range of creative productions.
· Develop and execute clear “Run of Shows” for both internal programming and private event activations.
Inventory & Equipment Management
· Manage and maintain AV equipment inventory, ensuring all systems are well-maintained and meet performance standards.
· Oversee equipment rentals, procurement, and upgrades, ensuring cost-effectiveness and seamless event execution.
· Develop and enforce best practices for equipment organization, logging, and care.
· Conduct periodic audits to uphold quality benchmarks and proactively address technical issues.
Financial Management & Vendor Relations
· Manage and track all invoices and expenses related to AV and IT services, ensuring financial accuracy.
· Oversee client invoicing, labor costs, and budget margins, ensuring events remain profitable and within set financial goals.
· Monitor and report budget margins on a biweekly basis, ensuring transparency and cost control.
· Act as the point of contact for all third-party AV/IT service providers, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective support.
· Negotiate and maintain vendor contracts, service agreements, and emergency troubleshooting resources.
Team Leadership & Development
· Lead, mentor, and oversee the AV & IT team, including in-house personnel and freelance technicians.
· Recruit, train, and develop a forward-thinking IT/Technology team, ensuring continuous skill development.
· Provide strategic guidance and training to in-house AV teams, ensuring readiness for live events and productions.
· Maintain clear policies for communication, ensuring alignment across departments.
Client Communication & Upselling
· Serve as a trusted advisor on AV and IT matters for property leadership, event teams, and executives.
· Ability to negotiate and upsell AV services to clients while ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
· Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders with clarity and transparency.
· Ensure clear communication and follow-through with clients, providing exceptional service and technical expertise.
Internal Programming & Activations
· Play a critical role in supporting internal programming and brand activations at NeueHouse.
· Align AV and IT strategies to support creative productions and high-profile events.
· Maintain a hands-on, integrated approach to supporting the business and its teams on a day-to-day basis.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant IT experience, with direct leadership and team management experience.
- Proven experience overseeing AV and IT teams in dynamic, high-volume environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related field, or relevant certifications.
- Strong strategic vision paired with the ability to execute and drive results.
- Adept at managing multiple priorities in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Experience guiding IT/Technology for industries such as Hospitality, Food + Beverage, Museums, Lifestyle, etc., is a plus.
- A record of organizational experience, particularly managing distributed teams.
- Fluency in Microsoft environments.
- Experience managing department budgets and successful vendor partner relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver under pressure, and adapt to changing business needs.

The anticipated salary for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 a year.
