What we're looking for:

As a Volunteer Grant Writer, you will play a crucial role in helping Money TALK$ Movement (MTM) secure the financial resources needed to drive our programs and mission forward. Working closely with our Founder, you will research potential funding opportunities, write compelling proposals, and help manage the submission process for grants. This role is ideal for someone with strong writing skills and a passion for non-profit work, looking to make an impact through grant writing.

List of Activities:

Grant Research:

Research and identify relevant grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with MTMs mission and programs.

Monitor grant deadlines and requirements to ensure timely submission of proposals.

Proposal Writing:

Write clear, compelling, and well-researched grant proposals that align with MTMs goals and funding priorities.

Develop and submit grant applications, including narratives, budgets, and other required documentation.

Ensure each grant proposal is tailored to the specific requirements of the funding organization.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with program directors and other staff members to gather necessary information for grant applications.

Work with the Founder to refine grant strategies and identify areas for growth in funding.

Other Tasks:

Assist with other fundraising efforts as needed, including donor proposals, sponsorships, and campaigns.

Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant writing and nonprofit fundraising.

Time Commitment:

This is a VOLUNTEER position with flexible hours. We anticipate a commitment of approximately 10-15 hours per week. Work can be done remotely, but occasional team events may require in-person participation.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in writing successful grant proposals (preferred, but not required).

Strong written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, persuasive, and engaging manner.

Ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize information from multiple sources.

Familiarity with grant databases, funding platforms, and nonprofit fundraising (helpful, but not required).

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and professionalism.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Strong passion for MTM's mission and values.
