POSITION SUMMARY

To perform polysomnographic testing.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training: Earned a Polysomnographic Technologist diploma or degree form a college or university. RPSGT or at least one year of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist experience. TN State License Polysomnographic Technologist BLS

Equipment and Skills Training:

Computerized Polysomnographic Testing Equipment; CPAP; Network Computer System; Pulse Oximetry; Oxygen Titration

Physical Effort:

Able to communicate in English both verbally and legibly.

Able to sit/stand/walk for up to ten hours a day.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Prepares patient physically and psychologically for testing, and provides emotional support. Performs procedures according to Williamson Health and Departmental Standards. Documents actions taken and patient's response. Provides patient with discharge instructions. Prepare completed test for interpretation. Prepares and maintains exam room for procedures. Maintains equipment and notifies Clinical Coordinator/Maintenance of needed repairs. Notifies Clinical Coordinator of supply needs. Attends in-services and other educational programs. Assist with the orientation and training of new personnel. Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications or special assignments Communicate outcomes and opportunities for improvement in the sleep lab care delivery team/system. Maintain position specific qualifications.
