TITLE: Vice President of Resource Development & Marketing REPORTS TO: President/ Chief Executive Officer JOB SUMMARY: The Vice President of Development & Marketing is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for driving, overseeing, and implementing the organization's strategic fundraising vision, corporate partnerships, and revenue growth, with a target of $2.2 million annually. This role involves developing and executing a comprehensive multi-year resource development and marketing strategy, securing major gifts, overseeing special events, and strengthening donor relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations. Additionally, the position supports the Board in cultivating and securing major gifts, enhancing organizational visibility, financial diversification, and overall impact. The individual in this position will also lead the organization's marketing, public relations, and brand positioning efforts, ensuring a strong, credible, and engaging presence within the community and beyond.

Responsibilities

STATUS: Exempt ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Resource Development: Work closely with the CEO and members of the Senior Leadership team to ensure alignment with organizational goals and fundraising strategies. Oversee the use of MyClubHub CRM (built on the Salesforce platform) to ensure the department is meeting fundraising goals and is effectively tracking donor progress and engagement. In collaboration with the Finance department, support monthly revenue reconciliation. Lead & support successful facilitation of the Resource Development committee of the Board, along with event planning groups. Lead the creation and execution of an annual fund development plan designed to meet the organization's revenue goals and align with strategic priorities. Manage and mentor the development team, ensuring they are well-equipped to execute successful fundraising strategies. Establish annual and multi-year fundraising targets in collaboration with the Senior Leadership team. Secure event sponsorships and build strategic partnerships to enhance success. Oversee & drive foundation relationship building and increasing grant award success rates. Implement efficient and effective grant management systems with a focus on collaboration with donors and internal stakeholders.

Donor & Major Gifts Management: Must collaborate well across departments as well as effectively collaborate with Board Members and key stakeholders on cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation strategies. Lead and oversee the Planned Giving program, identifying and cultivating high-potential donors interested in legacy gifts, endowments, and bequests to ensure long-term financial sustainability. In collaboration with the CEO, develop and implement a stewardship strategy to engage the Board of Ambassadors. Design and implement donor communication strategy and recognition programs. Collect and analyze donor feedback to refine engagement and retention strategies. Develop and implement a strategic donor segmentation plan, focusing on major gifts and high-net-worth individuals.

Stewardship/Database Management: Oversee daily, weekly, monthly, and annual gift recognition processes, aligning stewardship plans for all donors. Develop and execute a data-driven resource development program with a focus on diversifying revenue streams and contribution levels.

Strategic Leadership & Team Supervision: Provide supervision, guidance, and direction to the Resource Development team to ensure alignment with strategic goals and priorities, including conducting regular performance reviews. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Prepare detailed data reports outlining fundraising activities, outcomes, and trends for senior leadership and the Board, making decisions in alignment with organizational goals. Collaborate with the Programs and Operations teams to align development activities with organizational strategy and priorities. Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Marketing, Public Relations & Brand Management: Oversee the marketing and brand campaigns that increase organizational visibility and engagement, ensuring consistent branding and messaging across all collateral. Increase the visibility of Club development activities and maintain strong public relations. Represent the Club at networking and community events. Develop strategic alliances with community leaders and local government officials and corporate sponsors. Establish collaborative partnerships with parents, families, funders, and community organizations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in non-profit agency operations, specifically in the fundraising field, sales/marketing, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 years direct supervision of staff. Proven track record of securing $2M+ in revenue annually, with expertise in corporate partnerships, major gifts, and digital fundraising.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Proven experience in managing special events and securing major gifts, with a solid understanding of fundraising techniques and funding sources for non-profit organizations. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling proposals and deliver engaging presentations. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders, influencing and collaborating effectively. Knowledge of the Boys & Girls Clubs' mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures, as well as best practices in non-profit organizations and youth development services (preferred). Expertise in organizing and coordinating fundraising operations to achieve organizational goals. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Capacity to maintain effective & positive working relationships with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, community groups, and partner agencies. Flexibility and adaptability to take on additional responsibilities that support the organization's objectives. Innovative, creative, strategic, and analytical thinker with superior presentation skills. Exceptional public speaking and presentation abilities, with the confidence to represent the organization effectively in media, donor engagements, and high-profile events. Ability to connect and engage with diverse audiences, including major donors, corporate partners, board members, and executive leadership, fostering strong relationships. Ability to work nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed for events, meetings, or stewardship opportunities. Occasional travel domestically. High level of tact and diplomacy to work well with donors, volunteers, and staff. Excellent listening and communication skills, including the ability to articulate BGCGCV's story, mission, and impact in a compelling and inspiring way. Ability to work cooperatively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and data analysis. Strong background in marketing, public relations, and brand strategy. Required: Background Clearance, Live Scan, TB test, a valid driver's license, and auto insurance. This position requires 30% travel, including driving for donor meetings, corporate partnerships, community events, and fundraising engagements. A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a clean driving record are required. Ability to handle high-stress situations with composure and professionalism. Advanced experience with CRM platforms, specifically with Salesforce. Excellent time management and planning skills to manage the day-to-day functionality of departments, strategic planning, and implementation.
