WATG is hiring a Senior Designer II for our office in Los Angeles, California. ROLE The Senior Designer II leads the design of projects from concept planning through to construction administration. The Senior Designer II creates innovative solutions in hospitality design projects that enhance the goals of the client. The Senior Designer interprets, organizes, and executes the conceptual design of a project. The Senior Designer utilizes creativity, foresight, and judgment to meet project requirements and carry out the ultimate design intent. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops innovative design concepts that are practical, aesthetic, safe, and reflective of the intended purpose and function of the project, meeting client goals on schedule and within project budget. Leads the creative efforts of multiple interior design teams on projects from the initial marketing stages through construction and installation. Develops and owns overall design concepts, storytelling, and design presentation strategies. A fearless integrator and advocate for diverse points of view and expansive thinking. Builds and sustains client relationships; acts as the primary design interface with clients, team members, and a wide range of consultants and collaborators, both internal and external. Creatively aligns solutions to schedules and budgets. Mentors and develops Wimberly Interiors designers; provides creative direction to design teams. Interacts with clients while representing Wimberly Interiors at meetings and presentations. Participates in business development activities, marketing, and recruiting efforts. Participates in architectural contract preparation, and liability and fee calculations for related projects. Participates in team meetings to align the project deliverables with the design intent. Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects. Fosters a green workplace through sustainable work practices. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design or architecture. 15+ years of diverse interiors hospitality design experience, including experience in a management role. Experience leading design teams through all phases of the design process. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills. Proficient technical expertise in MS Office, Adobe Suite, DesignSmart, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and other design tools; some Revit experience preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects of a complex scope, meeting deadlines consistently and effectively. Highly effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
