Job Description

The senior communications representative will report to the Director of Marketing & Communications and will lead key strategic projects within the BHE Renewables corporate communications department, ensuring accuracy and consistency within internal and external messaging and reporting. The role includes analyzing and verifying data, generating content and editing internal and external communications materials, including reports, talking points, presentations, fact sheets, websites, newsletters and various publications. The senior communications representative develops and implements strategic approaches to minimize the impact of issues and improve the company's reputation.

Responsibilities

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Monitors, collates and analyzes traditional and social media, immediately raising awareness of key issues as they arise. Assists with crisis communications, as directed. Maintains a keen understanding of industry trends and makes appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them. Analyzes and organizes insights and data from a variety of sources and works collaboratively to develop the information into supporting communications materials. Assists with creating and distributing digital communications via various channels and technology. Serves as a resource for the warehousing of daily news clips and special edition reports as requested. Serve as a proofing resource for companywide projects. Follows department processes and procedures to ensure brand consistency and compliance. Exhibits strong project management skills, meeting multiple deadlines across projects and initiatives. Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.) Five years of experience in a communications, public relations or media relations function in a professional work environment. Advanced writing and editing/proofreading skills with excellent command of standard grammar, syntax and word usage rules. High attention to detail and level of judgement. Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills. Strong technical computer skills, including understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), website content management systems, email platforms and Adobe Writer. Must be proficient in Associated Press style. Ability to research and analyze large amounts of information and present to an employee in an easy-to-understand, creative way. Strong ability to communicate company language into employee understanding. Strong time and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects with multiple internal and external clients concurrently while meeting hard deadlines. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
