Position Summary:
Under minimal supervision, the Pipe Designer in this position will help on all project design assignments such as copying, making pick-ups, 3D modeling, and piping deliverables. This designer has advanced knowledge of drafting standards, drafting techniques, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design (with minimal assistance)
· 3D Modeling.
· Drawing generation, markup, and cleanup.
· Create/assemble check packages.
· Review and markup equipment vendor drawings.
· Dimensional and consistency checks on all piping deliverables.
· Fieldwork (laser scanning and/or hand sketches)
· Data input for lists (Line, Tie-in, Drawing Index, etc.)
· General office work such as making copies, attending meetings, etc.
· P&ID filed validations
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of industry-related experience with 5 years of design experience.
- Skills:
Can read and modify all standard deliverables.
Experience designing and supporting lines based on process and stakeholder constraints with minimal assistance.
Accustomed to working with the pipe stress group to establish a workable design.
Proficient with current releases of AutoCAD.
Proficient with 3D software and 3D modeling.
Proficient with Autodesk Recap software and Scan data.
Proficient with MS Word and Excel software.
Physical Requirements:
- Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office setting. The role may require occasional travel.
- Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
