Designer I
SUMMARY
The Designer I will be responsible for guiding clients through the planning and schematic design process, through construction administration. You will manage multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination including full documentation coordination. You will interact with clients, vendors, contractors, engineers, and SAA colleagues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
(Include the following, other duties may be assigned) Perform interior design assignments under the direction of a Job Captain or Project Manager that may include programming, space planning, pricing plans, design development, finish selection, consultant coordination, construction documentation and construction administration Provide project team coordination for plans, specifications and material selections Work with consultants, brokers, property managers, construction managers, contractors, furniture dealers and product reps to meet overall project objectives Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination Communicate effectively with clients Collaborate effectively and efficiently with internal teams on project objectives Participate in office activities, initiatives and learning and development programs Maintain client relationships through delivery of exceptional service Maintain accurate project, departmental and labor distribution codes on timesheet and timely submission SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BA/BS degree, 1-3 years' of relevant experience and training Proficient in Revit, Autocad and Microsoft Office Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills High level of organization and attention to detail Ability to prioritize and manage tasks Self-starter who has ability to take initiative Ability to work well in a team environment with a willingness to learn and grow Knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices within the industry, including but not limited to, office space planning, finishes/materials experience and design documentation Skilled at evaluating options and generating solutions Understand and solve technical problems Experience with the plan check process a plus Current basic knowledge of ADA, exiting and building codes a plus

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a Non-Exempt Full-Time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday to be discussed with direct supervisor.
TRAVEL
This position requires up to 20% local travel. Limited travel may include attending meetings and work sessions in other SAA Offices, Client Offices, or Job Site. Mileage will be reimbursed at a predetermined market rate. Individuals must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and have reliable transportation. Travel expenses will be reimbursed and per diem provided when appropriate.
