We are seeking an innovative and engaged Librarian for Information Literacy and Learning Initiatives to join us in the AUS Library.



As part of an exceptional team reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Public Services, you will develop instructional tools to further the librarys teaching and learning goals, working in close collaboration with teaching faculty. You will actively identify opportunities for outreach and partnerships on campus (particularly first-year experiences) that engage and support student success.



At its core, this position is responsible for the ongoing development, provision, and assessment of the universitys course-integrated information literacy (IL) program. This important role involves collaborating with librarians and faculty to embed a range of academic literacies and concepts into the curriculum, contributing to the education of thoughtful, capable and productive students.



Job Responsibilities




  • Leads the librarys efforts to develop and deliver a robust information literacy and instruction program across the curriculum. Develops and maintains online learning objects, including web-based instructional videos and research guides. Collaborates with faculty to integrate information, digital, and AI literacy concepts and skills into courses and assignments. Organizes and engages in outreach activities for first-year students and implements other initiatives to enhance student success. Performs departmental liaison responsibilities, including collection development and maintenance, instruction, and other professional activities. Provides reference services to students and faculty (face-to-face and virtual). Maintains strong links and networks with regional and international partners and within the sector, showcasing and disseminating best practices.



Qualifications and Skills Required




  • American Library Association accredited Masters degree in Library and Information Studies or equivalent. 2 years of instruction and reference experience. Demonstrated teaching ability and a strong commitment to student learning. Knowledge of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy, effective relevant pedagogies, and assessment strategies. Ability to create student-focused instructional materials and utilize appropriate digital resources to facilitate instructional goals. Strong service orientation, flexibility, and exceptional organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work within a diverse, multicultural environment. A committed approach to library and information provision, with a proactive attitude toward your own continued professional development and that of others.



Preferred Qualifications and Skills




  • Certificate in Teaching or Instructional Practice Experience in international academic librarianship, preferably with an American curriculum institution.
