Responsibilities: Produce stories that are driven by people who need help with their consumer problems Develop, research, and vet story ideas that lead to impactful stories Establish and maintain sources Write and produce short- and long-term stories for broadcast and web Be able to manage multiple stories at various stages of development Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions, and suggest story ideas Requirements : Strong visual storyteller with a track record of producing impactful investigations Team player who values collaboration Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time-management skills Clear understanding of journalistic principles and ethics Knowledge and respect of the law (libel, slander, copyright, public records, etc.) Social media proficiency BA/BS in journalism, communications, or related field. At least 5-7 years of experience, investigative and/or consumer reporting preferred Understanding of the ethics and tenants of professional journalism Ability to produce stories that are engaging and memorable Knowledge of multiplatform news gathering tools and resources Flexibility with schedule, reliability, and dependability Benefits: TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families.
