ORBIS is seeking an experienced professional for the role of Proposal Technical Writer . The person for this position will be instrumental in bridging the gap between technical solution development and persuasive communication to create clear, compelling written content that effectively demonstrates our technical approach and capabilities. The ideal candidate will understand federal contracting, particularly with the Department of Navy and will craft compliant written technical sections for proposals. The candidate should have the ability to understand technical concepts gleaned from inputs from subject matter experts addressing government technical requirements. This role reports into the Orbis Growth team and offers the opportunity for a remote work environment. Position Duties and Tasks: Proposal Writing: Write technical sections of proposals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with RFP requirements Write Orbis content that effectively communicates technical approaches and concepts Tailor written content for proposals demonstrating an understanding of the customer benefit and Orbis feature Supporting the Technical Solution Development: Support via written content aiding the design of technical solutions in response to government requirements Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to write and craft innovative solutions Having the ability to "one-voice" written content for multiple sections and documents Collaboration & Coordination: Ability to create written technical content from start to submission Ability to take direction and change direction fluidly Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry best practices in proposal writing Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications/Business/English/Language degree Eight or more years of demonstrable success supporting in a proposal writing role, with at least three years of experience writing technical proposal sections Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the following technical disciplines: submarine maintenance, cybersecurity, enterprise IT modernization, software development and integration Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and successfully under conditions of multiple efforts, deadlines, and changing priorities Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint Excellent work ethic, time management, and organizational skills Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet internal/external deadlines Must be a U.S. Citizen
