Designated as a breakthrough therapy and granted orphan drug status by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, gildeuretinol is being evaluated in multiple clinical trials for the treatment of Stargardt disease and geographic atrophy (GA) secondary to age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of blindness in the U.S.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a
Director/Sr. Director, US ECP Marketing,
to join the Alkeus team. This highly visible leadership position will shape brand strategy and tactical execution. The role involves driving key strategic imperatives and leading the launch readiness of gildeuretinol for the treatment of Stargardt disease. Critical attributes for success include leadership, strategic thinking, strong collaboration, communication, and execution skills. This role reports to the VP, Head of Marketing.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and execute marketing strategies, messaging, and tactics to drive brand performance. Leverage primary and secondary research to develop clear, actionable insights that inform key drivers and barriers for brand performance. Collaborate cross-functionally to develop/refine an integrated brand strategy, including market access, field leadership, medical affairs, and communications. Lead the development and execution of a cross-functional launch plan. Collaborate with field leadership to obtain input on launch strategies and tactics; ensure relevant launch KPIs are established, monitored, and optimized. Develop/refine strategic positioning and segmentation, representing the voice of the customer and acting as the brand champion across the organization. Utilize business analytics and market research to identify key insights for the development of pre-launch disease education initiatives. Collaborate with internal Legal, Medical, and Regulatory partners to deliver a compelling, effective brand campaign for the target ECPs. Be the brand champion and coordinate brand narrative across the organization. Oversee external agencies to execute promotional strategy and tactics through personal and non-personal channels. Lead development of ECP tactics including brand websites and omnichannel marketing. Collaborate with the thought leader liaison and medical affairs team to develop KOL strategy, including KOL identification, mapping, and engagement plan. Collaborate with the professional education team to develop Peer-to-Peer promotional speaker program strategy, content, and execution. Oversee congress planning and execution in partnership with the marketing operations team. Plan and facilitate advisory boards and other engagement activities to inform both commercial strategy and content development. Oversee the agency of record, develop and manage brand budgets. Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher. Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry experience with at least 6 years in marketing roles. Preferred qualifications include experience in rare disease and/or ophthalmology. Understanding and compliance with FDA regulations governing pharmaceutical marketing and the PhRMA code. Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Experience of working closely with key opinion leaders is preferred. Skills and Key Success Factors:
