Graphic Designer and Coordinator

for our client, a

conservative news

website that provides articles, podcasts, videos, and radio shows analyzing current events and politics, including exclusive content and membership options.

This position is well suited for an experienced Graphic Designer who can work remotely and independently on deadlines, and who is willing and able to be trained on some related website coordination duties as well.

This position is

fully remote . For candidates who live within ~30 miles of Long Island, NY, very occasional travel may be requested.

Work schedule is generally 8am - 5pm. Candidates must be willing and able to work

occasional extended hours including nights and weekends

(based on news cycle, not on show cycle).

About the Position:

This role will ultimately be responsible for overseeing the news operation's day-to-day development, production, and review of public-facing communications via the official website. An ideal candidate will have graphics and photoshop experience to create website graphics, promotional graphics, newsletter banners and social media content.

This position will work closely with Creative, Production and Social Media teams to execute editorial, content, and marketing strategies across the website and social media accounts. This position is key in facilitating requests, tracking goals, and ensuring effective and consistent communication flow.

Responsibilities:

Post daily content to website (desktop and mobile site). Create graphics for promotional content, merchandise, social media and newsletters (including for example, weekly columns, daily messages and videos, promotional clips, book excerpts, advertisements, creative and blog posts). Maintain the homepage each morning - ie, updating highlight bullets, banners and images. Complete daily show transcript via TRINT. Upload final transcript and captions to website. Maintain the client's brand across website and social media accounts. Manages uploading, tagging, and organization of video content to website. Initiates creative content for website and social media pages. Responsible for trafficking and posting sponsored digital ads for website. Qualifications and requirements:

Experience in photoshop and other graphic design software is required. Degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, PR, Communications, or a related field. 1-3 years of relevant work experience in political website management, social media and/or digital marketing or related field. Strong writing and editing skills. AWS experience a plus. Knowledge of current digital marketing best practices and processes, including understanding of paid and owned media, search engine optimization and mobile-centric web builds. Knowledge of the news cycle, and current events preferred. Excellent communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely. Can prioritize work activities and use time efficiently, follows instructions, responds to manager's instructions. Video editing experience preferred; not required.

Pay Range : $55k - $65k, depending on qualifications.

Benefits:

In addition to the starting salary, you will receive two weeks paid time off per year in accordance with company policy and you will be considered for a discretionary holiday bonus and annual raises after one year of employment.
