Location: Huntsville, AL

The Proposal Writer is responsible for developing high-quality, compelling proposals in response to government Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other solicitations. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, including business development, technical experts, and management, to craft persuasive proposals that align with client requirements and company capabilities.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Proposal Development: Create compliant, well-written, and compelling proposals in response to government solicitations.
  2. Content Creation: Draft executive summaries, technical narratives, past performance sections, management plans, and other proposal components.
  3. Proposal Coordination: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), business development teams, and leadership to gather and incorporate technical and operational input.
  4. Compliance Review: Ensure all proposal submissions meet RFP requirements, including formatting, structure, and content guidelines.
  5. Research and Analysis: Analyze RFPs, RFIs, and related documents to identify requirements, evaluation criteria, and key deliverables.
  6. Templates and Tools: Develop and maintain proposal templates, boilerplate language, and content libraries for efficient proposal generation.
  7. Editing and Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit proposals for accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
  8. Proposal Tracking: Maintain proposal schedules, deadlines, and submission records to ensure timely delivery.
Requirements
  1. 3+ years of experience writing proposals for government contracts, preferably in the defense sector.
  2. Familiarity with federal procurement processes, including FAR/DFARS regulations.
  3. Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  4. Strong ability to analyze and synthesize complex technical information.
  5. Works well with teams and across multiple organizations.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  7. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on detail.
  8. Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work independently.
  9. Experience with tools like SharePoint, proposal automation software, or CRM systems.
  10. PMP certification or training.
  11. Knowledge of the defense industry, including key players, terminology, and trends.
