We are looking for a Production Graphic Artist for a top fashion company in New York, New York. This contract position operates 3 days onsite and 2 remote days in their NYC office. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Attend style review meetings with design and cross-functional teams to understand, review and discuss the vision/concept before starting the PLM technology package process.
- Work closely with leading artists and creative teams to meet designers' expectations for each artwork.
- Work closely with Senior Design Ops team members to ensure production graphics meet all criteria before sharing with suppliers.
- Work with the engineering design team to create nested templates for graphic placement and resize approval.
- Collaborate with final major artists using 2D/3D imagery to finalize the graphic scale and placement of production-ready PLM technical packages.
- Work with project partners to ensure BOMs and graphic details are aligned for manufacturing technology packages.
- Participate in the creation of brand-specific graphics sheets by providing color separation and tone, technical calls, and sizing of artwork based on size and location requirements.
- Convert fabric print designs to repeat patterns for rotary and flatbed printing based on roll sizes and fabric widths.
- Prepare technical drawings and color cards for knitwear based on the construction and count of the yarns used for the PLM technical packages.
- Offer technical calls on artistic embellishments including embroidery, graphic screen printing, appliqué, and fabric prints.
- Provide organizational support to the Design Operations Team by maintaining physical and digital reference materials.
- Create and maintain brand-specific image placement and sizing guides using 2D and 3D images.
- Change and update PLM information as needed throughout the development and manufacturing process.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite and Flex PLM.
- Basic knowledge of Browzwear 3D and Lotta software.
- Detailed knowledge of the screen printing process and of the techniques applied in production.
- Knowledge of the production pressure limits.
- Practical knowledge of the Pantone mixing system and its relationship to color matching.
- Comprehensive understanding of the nesting of models and production marks related to graphic arts.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, team and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and responsibility.
- Degree in graphics or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant design experience.
