About this opportunity:

Prepare, plan, and operate audio/visual equipment for meetings, events, classes, and seminars at the Salvation Army camps. Ensure camp activities are recorded for Salvation Army publications. Capture video and pictures for these publications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, adjust, and operate audio/visual equipment for various camp programs, including worship services and concerts.
  • Operate and install audio/visual equipment.
  • Keep the sound room clean and organized.
  • Report any problems with audio/visual equipment to the Program Director.
  • Secure and lock all audio/visual equipment after each session.
  • Videotape and photograph camp activities daily.
  • Produce a camp promotional video.
  • Instruct camp employees in the selection, use, and design of audio/visual materials, and assist them in preparing instructional materials and rehearsing presentations.
  • Plan and prepare audio/visual teaching aids and methods for camp classes.
  • Perform simple maintenance tasks such as cleaning monitors and lenses and changing batteries and light bulbs.
  • Maintain collections of audio/visual material such as films, video/audio tapes, photographs, and software programs.
  • Daily upload content to Camp Keystone and SA Florida Youth social media accounts.
  • Ensure campers and staff follow safety procedures.
  • Participate enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other camp activities.
  • Sit with camper tables during meals and serve as a table monitor when needed.
  • Keep personal living quarters neat, clean, and ready for inspection.
  • Be available to participate and assist with camp programs and activities as directed by the Camp Director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Two years’ experience in video production and photography preferred, or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • CPR and First Aid Certification

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Some physical requirements of the Camp Audio Visual Specialist/Camp Photographer position include endurance, climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours is essential. Daily exposure to sun and heat and varying environmental conditions is expected.

Additional Information:

Camp Staff Orientation will be held 06/2/2025 – 06/8/2025, and participation is required. The 2025 Summer Camp Program will be held 06/9/2025 – 07/19/2025. If you are unable to work the entire program session, please let us know on your application.
