The Manager of Creative Operations will play a pivotal role in overseeing and streamlining the creative processes within Black Digital. Acting as the dedicated lead for the design and marketing teams, this senior-level position ensures that projects are executed efficiently, meet quality standards, and align with both the company’s and the client’s objectives. The Manager will foster collaboration, optimize workflows, and maintain alignment across all creative functions, empowering the team to deliver high-impact output.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

  • Serve as the dedicated lead for the design and marketing teams, providing strategic guidance and hands-on support.
  • Oversee team members, including graphic designers, content producers, social media coordinators, and strategists, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
  • Foster growth and elevate creative output.

Creative Process Optimization

  • Develop, implement, and manage efficient workflows and processes for creative project execution.
  • Establish clear systems for project intake, prioritization, and timelines to ensure consistent on-time delivery.
  • Use available tools and platforms to manage creative assets and track project progress.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Act as a bridge between the creative team and other departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment with set goals.
  • Work with senior leadership to align creative strategies with business objectives and client needs.
  • Facilitate regular check-ins, creative team huddles, and feedback sessions to maintain transparency and cohesion.

Project Oversight and Resource Management

  • Oversee the allocation of resources.
  • Evaluate team availability, skills, and workload to assign resources strategically, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
  • Resolve conflicts and remove roadblocks as needed.
  • Collaborate with account managers and clients to understand project scopes and deliverables.
  • Ensure proper documentation and archiving of completed projects and creative works for future reference and accessibility.

Quality Assurance and Brand Integrity

  • Maintain high standards for excellence and ensure deliverables align with client expectations and brand guidelines.
  • Implement review and approval processes to uphold quality control.
  • Define a "job done" status and implement processes to mark projects as complete, ensuring consistency.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in both design and marketing disciplines.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in creative operations, project management, or a similar role, preferably within an agency or fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience managing creative teams, with a focus on fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and productivity platforms.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, often fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities with professionalism.
